As her brothers and sisters would attest to, Alice was more like a mother than a sister. She loved and cared for each one to the extent that some lived with her for short periods of time. Their children were also encouraged to further their education, sometimes living with them in Fitchburg. Alice stayed by her parents and family faithfully. Even on her wedding day, she went home to prepare dinner for her brothers and new husband.

After Alice and Ferdinand were married, they went to Newton Theological Seminary where Ferdinand was studying for the ministry. His first charge was in Gardner, Massachusetts and that is where their first three children were born. Later, Ferdinand was hired by the Massachusetts Baptist Convention to do missionary work among the French. This position may have been influenced by J.D. Rossier's work with the French.

In 1904, the Perrons moved to Fitchburg, Massachusetts and worked in the Fitchburg and Leominster areas. In 1918, they moved to Lowell, Massachusetts where Ferdinand became pastor (1918-1937) of the Ennel Street French Baptist Church. It is interesting to note J.D. Rossier was pastor of the same church 1887-1888. After Ferdinand's death his son, Donald, became pastor (1937-1938). In later years, their son-in-law, Wilfrid Brodeur, was the Lay Pastor there for 18 years until the church was united with other churches.
