Bernard married Marjorie Noe. They had three children: Bernard, Jr., Patricia, and Christine.

Bernard worked many years at the asbestos mines in Eden, Vermont. He moved to Orleans, Vermont and worked in a lumber yard as well as doing roofing jobs. He died on March 2, 1969 and is buried in Orleans, Vermont.
