Caroline (Carol) was born in Clinton, Massachusetts on June 2, 1939. She grew up in Roxbury, Massachusetts, attended Boston Public Schools and became an expert seamstress. She married Donald O'Brien in 1959. They were wed in a Catholic church in Norwood by a priest. It caused consternation among the Rossier and Klarner guests at the wedding reception. After the wedding many who had been in attendance treated shunned Ralph's family..

They lived in Norwood, Massachusetts and had three children: Teresa and Donna (twins) born June 29, 1960 and Diana born July 14, 1961. After the three girls were born Pauline Klarner, her maternal grandmother, relented and welcomed Ralph, Ida, their children, Caroline & Don and her three girls back into the family.

While her girls were growing up Caroline made most of their clothes.

She later divorced and married Arthur Bond. They moved to Norfolk, Virginia. Arthur died of lung cancer in 2003.

In 2007 Caroline married George Babbit.
