Eugene married Chloe April 14, 1909 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and spent most of the early part of his life working in factories. During the time in Fitchburg, they lived at 12 Clinton Street, 33 Goddard Street, and 62 Central Avenue.

They moved to Leominster where Eugene worked in a celluloid factory and was a lay minister at the Baptist church. Chloe operated a corner grocery store.

They had two sons, Ralph Albert and Ernest (Rod) Roderick.

Eugene died in Leominster, Massachusetts on April 8, 1944. After Eugene died Chloe moved to Roxbury, Massachusetts and lived with her son, Ralph, and his family. Later she moved to Norwood, Massachusetts and lived with her son, Rod.

She married Mr. Pellowes and they lived in Norwood. Chloe died in her sleep in the car of her son, Ralph and his family on their way home from visiting the family of her daughter-in-law, Ida, in Leominster, on May 9, 1960. Eugene and Chloe are buried in the Wilcox family plot at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

The bible Eugene used during sermons at the Baptist church in Leominster was passed down to his son, Ralph, and later to his grandson, Charles.
