Henry was first married to Hazel from Farmington, Maine. He operated a dairy farm in Eden, Vermont for several years. In 1930, Henry and Hazel had a daughter, Virginia. Their marriage, however, was not to last and he married again on January 1, 1940 to Thelma Tatro. They moved to Bristol, Connecticut where he worked for General Motors until retirement age. They had a son named Mark.

While in Bristol, Henry was a member of the Grace Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, Head Usher, and Sunday School teacher.

Henry and Thelma spent their later years at their summer home in North Hero, Vermont.

In North Hero, he was Justice of the Peace and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department. He died in North Hero in 1980. Thelma died on March 26, 1988. They are both buried in North Hero, Vermont.
