Harry (Henry H. Ryder, Jr.) was born November 1, 1931 in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. He was educated in the public schools of Brockton. He attended Wheaton College in Illinois and graduated from Gordon College. Harry obtained his Master's degree from Bridgewater State Teacher's College. He also served as Assistant Pastor and Youth Director at the Middleboro Baptist Church. He later served as teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and Superintendent of Schools on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, as well as Rangeley, Maine. Harry was also President of the Children's Museum in Hartford, Connecticut. He married Faith Stetson on August 22, 1953 who is a graduate of Gordon College. They have two children, Scott and Beth.
