Milton Perron Ryder was born May 18, 1937 in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was educated in the public schools of Brockton. He graduated from Eastern Baptist College in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. Milton married Ardis Clemons. He studied at Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago and graduated from Andover Newton Theological Seminary in Massachusetts. He received his Doctorate degree from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. He has been a pastor in Westwood, Massachusetts, Antrim, New Hampshire, and Wappingers Falls, New York. For several years he was employed by the American Baptist Headquarter in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. He now pastors the First Baptist Church of Boston. He is married to Helen Samis, an administrative secretary at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. They have two children, Jefferson and Tonda.
