Scott Judson Ryder was born June 21, 1958. He is employed by the White Mountain Mental Health and Developmental Services in Littleton, New Hampshire. He attended Gordon College and is working on his Master's degree from Springfield College. Scott married Debra Ann Lapierre on March 26, 1983. She is a graduate of Salem State College and works as Activities Director at the Country Village Nursing Home. They have two children: Alyson, born December 8, 1987; and Lindsey, born December 23, 1989.

They home school their children.
