While scanning postcards I found in my parents' home (Ralph & Ida Rossier) after their deaths
I found correspondence between Bertha Rossier & Wesley Rossier.
The correspondence took place before my father was born and that confused me. Before I found the
book written by Gifford Rossier, I had never heard of Ulrich, Bertha, or Wesley. In Gifford's notes
I didn't find any correspondence between them and my grandparents, Eugene & Chloe Rossier. Other than that
Ulrich and Eugene were brothers they didn't seem to have had anything to do with each other.
My grandfather, Eugene, died in 1944. None of his siblings seem to have been aware of his death
and he was buried in the Wilcox family plot at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Fitchburg, Massachusetts
with his father-in-law, Charles Wilcox, instead of in Montgomery Center with his parents and siblings.
Eugene lived in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and later Leominster while Ulrich lived in Clinton, Massachusetts.
The towns are fairly close to each other and they certainly could have gotten together occasionally.
That doesn't explain why postcards between Bertha and Wesley would have ended up in my mother's closet 80 years later.
Nevertheless, I offer images of the postcards for anyone to peruse.
