Margaret married Robert Damann on April 2, 1949. They had a son named Robert Eric (Ricky).

Margaret was killed on May 19, 1955 at the age of 32. She was hit by a car while crossing a street in Rochester, New York. William never completely recovered from the loss of his daughter. Margaret is buried at the Pine Bank Cemetery, Chesire, New York.

Robert Damann married again in 1959 to Joanne Lischeid who had lost her husband in the Korean War.
