Stanley, the eldest, was born February 19, 1898 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He joined the Los Angeles Police Force after serving in World War I. After a shoot-out with gangsters he received a commendation from the Police Force for Heroism. Stanley was about 25 years old when his motorcycle was hit by a car, badly injuring one leg that eventually had to be amputated. He then sold real estate for several years. Stanley died June 18, 1942 at the age of 44 and is buried next to his father, Albert, in the Montgomery Center Cemetery.
