Robert Davis Taylor, Jr. graduated from the University of Vermont in 1965 and Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1969. He lives in Middlebury, Vermont and has a veterinary practice in Addison County. In 1970, he married Judith Miller of Newbury, Massachusetts. Judy graduated from the University of Vermont and is a physical education teacher.

They have two children: Rebecca Willow, born December 15, 1977; and Holly Ann, born December 27, 1980. both girls are active in school activities and sports. Willow will enter college in the fall of 1996.
