As a child B.A. lived in Roseburg, Oregon, Crescent City, California, Amarillo, Texas, Alva and Guymon, Oklahoma, and Bozeman, Montana. He attended Lee Bevins Elementary School for Children with Disabilities in Amarillo, Texas. In Alva, Oklahoma in 1976 he attended the Alva Junior High School briefly. In 1982 he went to Eugene, Oregon and received service from the Laurel Hill Center and spent his days at the University of Oregon library reading and researching in his many interests.

Graveside services for Bernard Aloys "B.A." Dressler, 41, Eugene, Oregon were at the Alva Municipal Cemetery Friday, July 9, 2004, at 10 a.m. with Reverend Lance Lenards, pastor of the Wesleyan Church, officiating. Wharton Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dressler was preceded in death by: his mother, Wanda; his father, Bernard Francis; a sister, Ramona Hillman; an aunt, Helen Renzema; and an uncle, Donald Little.

B.A. was survived by: his four sisters, Bernett Pedlingham of Herefordshire, England, Rebecca Dressler of Eureka, California, Sara Dressler-Squillace of Franklin, Tennessee, Rachel Lesslie and her husband, Timothy, of Haven, Kansas; two brothers, Leo of Albany, Oregon, and Louis of Porterdale, Georgia; four aunts, Eva Stevens of Coos Bay, Oregon, Ione Hada of Alva, Oklahoma, Beulah Meiser of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Helen Little of Dewey, Arizona; and an uncle, Dwight Little of Alva, Oklahoma; seventeen nephews and nieces, seventeen great nephews and nieces, many cousins, and good friends that he fellowshipped with at the Laurel Hill Center in Eugene, Oregon.
